La realidad posible ::: Posible Reality

"Negamos muchas cosas, porque nuestro limitado entendimiento nos hace creer que son imposibles. Pero, mientras más leo y me instruyo, más veo que lo tenido por imposible en el pensamiento se hace posible en la realidad", habría escrito el almirante, según nos propone el novelista. (Alejo Carpentier. El arpa y la sombra. Siglo XXI, México, 1979; 69). Pensamiento y realidad, dos ámbitos que suponemos tan diferentes como mundos separados en dos distintas dimensiones. Son, sin embargo, dimensiones complementarias, dependiente una de la otra como dos caras de una moneda: no existe una sin la otra, y lo que una inventa o propone la otra lo asume y realiza. Son, en esencia, una misma cosa.

But the more I read and instruct my self, the more I see that what one thought to be impossible becomes possible in reality," would have written the admiral, as proposed by the novelist. (Alejo Carpentier. The Harp and the Shadow. Siglo XXI, Mexico, 1979; 69). Thought and reality, two areas we assume to be as different as two separate worlds in different dimensions. They are, however, complementary dimensions, dependent on each other like two sides of a coin: there is no one without the other, and what one of them proposes or invents, the other accepts it and makes it happen.They are, essentially, the same thing.
